ACCF Applauds Schrader-McKinley Bill to Promote Clean Power Technologies Through Innovation

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Council for Capital Formation today praised Reps. Kurt Schrader (D-OR) and David McKinley (R-WV) for their introduction of the bipartisan Clean Energy Future through Innovation Act of 2021.  The legislation promises to boost innovation of clean energy technologies and reduce emissions from the power sector while preserving affordability and reliability.

The ACCF also noted that it will be holding a webinar discussion with Reps Schrader and McKinley on July 29th.  ACCF Senior Vice President for Regulatory and Energy Policy Kyle Isakower issued the following statement:

“Innovation is the path to a cleaner, more secure energy future.  This legislation prescribes significant investments into innovation and infrastructure that will help facilitate advancements in carbon capture, advanced nuclear, renewables, efficiency, and storage.  It also establishes a reasonable timetable to reduce carbon emissions–80% by 2050.  This measured, common sense approach is the right policy at the right time to make the U.S. a global leader in clean energy innovation.  We are encouraged by the bipartisan support this important bill is receiving and we look forward to hosting our forum with them on July 29 to share the merits of the bill with key industry leaders and stakeholders.”
