The ACCF Congratulates Kevin Hassett on Being Named Director of the White House National Economic Council

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Council for Capital Formation commends the appointment of Kevin Hassett to Director of the White House National Economic Council by President-Elect Trump.  Previously, Hassett served as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers in President Trump’s first administration.  He has served as Director of Economic Policy Studies at American Enterprise Institute, a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve, on the Faculty of Columbia University, a visiting Distinguished Professor at Hoover, and an economics contributor to CNN. He is also a long-time member of the ACCF Board of Scholars.

“Kevin Hassett is highly regarded as an economist by his peers and an effective economic policy maker,” said ACCF Center President and CEO Mark Bloomfield.  “Our nation’s economy needs the best minds and steady hands.  Hassett has the depth and experience in tax and economic policy that will be critical to President Trump’s economic policy agenda.”

Since its inception, the ACCF Center for Policy Research has welcomed leading economists as members of its board of scholars. This distinguished board includes six former Chairmen of the Council of Economic Advisers from Democrat and Republican administrations, former Directors of the Congressional Budget Office, a former Federal Reserve Board Member, and the President of the National Bureau of Economic Research.
